Hi, I'm Evelina,

A Sign Language Interpreter turned Web Developer.

After a career as a Sign Language Interpreter and an entrepreneur I went for my goal to become a Web Developer. I put great value on using good online services and apps and wanted the skills to do it myself. The Web Developer Immersive course at General Assembly offered a great start for this. I am currently working as a Front End Developer.

WORK: Project 4

This was my final project on WDI. Due to my interest for fashion, online shopping experiences and vintage/second hand clothing, I created Pre-loved - West London, an app to sell and buy pre-loved fashion in West London. This application is a MERN stack app, has CRUD functionality and also uses JWT/bcrypt authentication. I wanted to expand my knowledge with a new CSS framework and chose Bulma.

Technologies used: JavaScript, React, Express.js, NodeJS, Mocha, Chai, NYC, SASS, MongoDB, Bulma, Axios, Bcrypt

WORK: Project 3

This was a group project making a MEAN app for planning your ski holiday with other users. We found the project board on Trello helpful while working and tried to divide the tasks in a way to not get merging conflicts while committing to Github. We used Google Places, Google Maps and Filestack API and wrote tests using Mocha and Chai.

WORK: Project 2

A full-stack RESTful app with authentication for creating lists with the theme of makeup. The idea is to do an inventory on makeup you already have and products you want to get. I imagined the target group of users to be teenage girls and focused on that in my styling.

Technologies used: Node, EJS, Bootstrap

WORK: Project 1

As a first project on GA I made an educational game for learning nouns in Spanish, Swedish, Norwegian or Finnish. Each language has five stages with a sentence and word you find the right translation for. There is also an random option that will generate any sentence of any of the four languages. This is inspired by one of my favourite apps Duolingo.

Technologies used: JavaScript, jQuery, CSS
